FAQs

Why do you only allow registered users who have logged in to view details of the listings?
This is a preventive measure to ensure that contact information and listing details are available to registered users who are serious about our profession, what this site provides and to protect phone numbers (if provided).

I have added a listing to the site, but I need to change it.  How do I do that?
Every item that you have listed can be viewed and changed.  Go to My account on the top left, then go to "Track" and you will see each entry you have submitted.  Click on the listing you want to edit and then click on the "Edit" button.  From here you will be able to edit your listing. Don't forget to hit the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

I had listed an item for sale, it sold and now I want to take it off the site.  How do I do that?
Follow the steps in the above question for changing a listing and instead of editing the listing, go to the bottom of the page and click the "delete" button.

My "For Sale" photograph will not upload.  What is going on?
Your photograph needs to be a .jpg (or .jpeg), so if you have a .png or other format, it will not work.  Also, your photo may be too large.  There are many FREE image resizers on the web.  One very fast and easy website is picresize.com that has a very intuitive user interface and it's free (for now).

My "For Sale" photograph was uploaded, but it is large!
Again, lots of image resizers are available on the web (picresize.com is fast and easy). After resizing the photo, edit your listing by taking off the old photo and upload the new one - don't make it too small though!.

Can I prevent people from contacting me through the site?
The internal mail contact form is turned on by default, BUT IT DOES NOT DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL TO THE USER TRYING TO CONTACT YOU, just your username. If you do not wish others to contact you at all then go to My account, then click on the "Edit" button, then deselect the personal contact form and hit the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

How do I contact someone through the site?
Users must give permission for other users to contact them. You can send these users an internal email, but you will not actually view their personal email address.  Your message will be forwarded to them through this site.  However, you should be aware that when you contact them using the internal form, your email address will be visible to them. First you should verify that the user has given this permission. Click on their username of the person you wish to contact; this takes you to the profile page. If you have permission to send an email, then a "Contact " button will be available to you. If the end user has not enabled this, then you will not be able to contact them. Alternatively, if the user has their contact info available and they are on the discussion board, they will have a little envelope icon on a posting which can be used to contact them (if their permissions are set). If they have not given a telephone number on a listing page AND they have disabled the internal mail contact, then you should check posting to see if they have given details of how to contact them on their descriptions and if all else fails then contact web admin if it is important.

How do I get/change an avatar for the discussion forum?
Go to My account on the left side, then click on the edit button.  Pick an avatar from the list provided.  Go to the Bottom of the page and hit "Save".

Can I upload my own avatar?
For now, no.  This is to help with the level moderation that is required on the site.  What one person might view as not being offensive may not be the view of another.  You know how we humans are......

I had a listing, but it is no longer there.  What happened?
If the other listings are still there and there wasn't a major meltdown on the site, then your content was deemed unrelated to massage therapy, unprofessional or unsuitable.

I see someone abusing the site - what should I do?
Report it immediately - by either using the contact form or by emailing adminATtxmassageforumDOTcom with information on the abuse. This site is a moderated site, and if the users become mini-moderators, then this web admin is happy to have you on board.

Some sort of "spam filtering" was displayed when I tried to enter a listing, what is that?
Just try again! It may be that you're having a one word comment that has flagged the spam filtering software, so if that's the case, just edit the comment and try again. Also, you may be asked to enter a validation pattern into the red box (especially on the forum). If it is causing a lot of problems, get in contact with us with details of what you are doing. More spam filtering will be used as the site gets busier to ensure that "true" users of the site are entering data. It's a slight inconvenience, but necessary nonetheless
